Hi,
I want to set up an email account for which all inbound and outbound email is secure. The reason is I have a client who is very concerned that their data is secure at all times, and they are loathe to email me outside their network.
How do I implement a secure email system? Is it a matter of setting up SSL for my domain - or is there an easier way? I'm totally non technical re setting up servers.
Thanks
You will certainly need a certificate for the hostname of your mail server, but you'll also need to configure your mail server to handle secure SMTP and POP3/IMAP connections. Mail server administration is a complicated subject and is definitely not for the technically uninclined.
If you are not the systems administrator of your mail system, chances are that the system is already equipped to do this or that the person who does administer it is capable of securing it for you.
