Hi, I'd love an answer to this question. Transferred my website over 5 days ago, and set up the webmail and macmail. Can send out mail, cannot receive any. All mail sent to my inbox reads: There was an SMTP communication problem with the reception's email server, contact your administrator.
And since the beginning I've asked Gandi to respond to me via alternative emails, and left numerous messages on the answering machine, and send a fax… still no answer!
Now in my case, the error message gives my OLD nameserver afterwards. Having no answer from Gandi, I've called up DNS where they tell me that Gandi is supposed to have changed that when they did the trade over … - and maybe this is where the problem lies???
Would this be the start of an answer for you Patrick?

Hello,
All steps performed correctly until specifying the outgoing smtp server. I specified smtp.symbiosys-eds.com but it cannot connect to the server. I can receive emails but I cannot send any,
I've tried wth and without password authentication without success.
Apple Connection Doctor reports: "Could not connect to this SMTP server,.." I have 5 other mail accounts that all work correctly.
