Question "Mail restriction", by Christophe B.

Hello,

Have a question on the time mail restriction. Below the conditions :

The use of the Gandi Mail service is limited to 5 e-mails sent per minute and per domain name, regardless how many Mailboxes you have created.

I want to use this email for an automatic answer for filling a form on my website, like :

From : admin@mydomain

To : user@mail.com

You're application is recorded, here is the code to save : XXXXXXXXXX

It's an automatic mail, do not reply to it

My question is :

What will happen if 6 visitors filled the form in less than one minute? (ie : 6 mails have to be sent in less than one minute)

  • The sixth mail will be delayed and sent after the minute?
  • The sixth mail will never be sent
  • The sixth mail is sent but I will have problem with Gandi for not follow the technical limitations I have signed.

Thanks in advance for the response.

If you are using your normal email box for this, then the sixth email will never be sent.

However, using your normal email box for this type of situation is not the ideal or preferred way to do this. What you will likely need to do is install PostFix on your site, which does not include the "5 emails per minute" restriction.
