Another step is required for installing drupal in a subfolder. This can be achieved through the use of a .htaccess folder (create or edit) in the htdocs folder or creating of a symlink. The aim here is for www.example.com/drupal to appear as www.example.com
For the former (htaccess) there is a long thread at http://drupal.org/node/144643 with several approaches outlined.
I am in the processes of moving an existing site, and have not yet achieved success with this. Is anyone able to outline there approach here (i.e. the htaccess file they created or a symlink)?
