Question "Reset the server", by Antoine B.

Hello,

I have one Fedora 8 server share for 1 year.

While installing php-cli, I had to remove the gandi repository, and I enable fedora-test and development repository. My server is now a complete mess. I want to reset it and restart from a clean install. That won't happen again. Thanks for your help!

Antoine

Hello,

The only thing to do is to put all the files you want to keep into your data drive.

Next, detach the drive from your server, delete your server, and create it again.

Just notice that you will keep the same IP address, and you won't have to set your DNS settings again. When your server will be created, you will be able to attach your data drive, and retrieve all datas on it.

This is the best thing to do to recover a clean install.

Best regards,

– Rudy
