Question "Converting "monthly" to annual", by Slavko R.

Is it possible to convert my current "monthly" billed account to annual account? There is option to add annual shares, but will this operation convert my existing shares or create new set of shares?

Answer, by Ryan A. (Gandi)

Go to "Manage" → "Servers" → and then click on the "Manage your resources" button. You will then see your hosting resources administration page, where you can add "base shares", additional disk quota, and "annual shares".

To purchase fixed annual shares, click on the "add" button that is in the actions column. All that remains is to select the number of shares that you want and to confirm your choice by clicking on the "Submit" button.

I did the above but my host seems to be still using the base shares and I'm still getting warning Emails about my monthly shares expiring. Do I need to apply my new annual shares to my host or will this happen automatically once my base shares have expired?

My base shares expire tomorrow and I need to make sure that we don't have any down-time.

Just remember a Share is a Share (whether it is annual or not is just used for billing purposes). So what you want to do is add an annual share and then remove the monthly share. Your server will not have to be restarted or moved to the new annual share.

For this example, suppose you have one monthly share (like I did) and you wanted to convert that to an annual share.

1. Go to the "Your Hosting Resources" page (see first post via the Manage your resources button).

2. Click on "Add" link that is on the SAME ROW as "fixed annual share". Then pay for it, etc. You should now have 2 shares (one monthly and one annual) after you finish.

3. Go back to the "Your Hosting Resources" page, after you finish step 2. And click "Remove" link that is on the SAME ROW as "monthly base share". Go thru and confirm. For me, Gandi actually gave me some money back since I had 6 days left on my monthly share.

That is it. I just did it today. No down time. I have one fixed annual share now.
