Hello,
Can anyone tell me which is the best way to configure access to a web server. For many years I've been entering the IP address of the host machine, but recently I've come across a host who insists that the way it should be done is to change the DNS address on the domain to their domain name servers instead, Does anyone have an explanation as to whether this is as good as supplying the actual machine IP address to the registrar's zone files?
Hello,
I would suggest adding the IP to your zone record on your own, unless you have a specific reason for changing the DNS servers.
This link explains how A records work and how they can be added using the Gandi control panel.

Thanks.
