Question "fdisk says - Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary", by Jayesh G.

I am trying to resize the system (root) partition following the procedure mentioned here. When creating a new system partition I get a message 'Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary'. Is this something I need to worry about? I suppose I should not continue until the above message disappears.

also most forums mention that the partitions that needs to be re-sized should be unmounted first. but again, the only way to access the server is through ssh (or the emergency console) which require the server to be online. how do i unmount the root filesystem? (if it is possible at all, that is)

please help!
