I was trying to repartition /dev/xdva on a Debian Squeeze 64bits, but the device file doesn't exist (/dev/xdva{1,2} are there, though), so i cannot repartition my disk. Has anyone encountered this problem?
Thanks!
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 64 bits and I have noticed the same. fdisk -l says there are no valid partitions at all:
Disk /dev/xvda1: 21.5 GB, 21474836480 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2610 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000
Disk /dev/xvda1 doesn't contain a valid partition table …
I did resize /dev/xvda1 which is my system disk. resize2fs didn't complain at all and the size seemed to increase to the one I set via Gandi's webpage. I made a support request to Gandi as I'm not sure if this is normal or not, and if they should update their guide or not.
