I have started to transfer a couple of domains to Gandi.net and the process is progressing.

The DNS for the domains will be handled by Gandi.

How do I create the DNS records for the transferring domains before the domains have transferred.

This is important since there may be a window where nobody is doing DNS for the domains.

Hello,

if you use your hosting provider DNS, when the transfer will be completed, you may always use those for a week approximately.

After that, you will be able to change the DNS for Gandi ones and edit the zone directly after changing the DNS on the domain name management page.

When I previously transferred a domain, the old registrar stopped doing DNS immediately when the domain transferred. And since I had not yet created the domain on Gandi.net, there was a time where there was no DNS for the domain.

I want to avoid that problem this time.

I want to be create the zones on Gandi's DNS before the transfer so everything will be ready and there will be no downtime.

How can I do this?

I have the same question: is there way for incoming domains that will using Gandi's DNS service to configure new zone files before the transfer is complete?

We would love to minimise downtime during this transition.
