I would like to know if when I transfers a domain to Gandi that is due to expire in 2014 if I will keep that expiry date or if this make the expiry void and I have to pay again ?

What is the cost of a transfer ?

To answer your question, depending on your extension, the domain will be deleted and made available for new registration on the open market, or you will be able to transfer with no problem at all, or something in-between. It depends on the extension.
