If you wish to reactivate a domain which was destroyed from our bases, you'll need to have it restored. Destruction intervenes 30 days after expiration date for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO and .BIZ domains.
You can check whether or not a domain must be restored by checking the available data in the Whois: if you see a status called Redemption Period" or "Pending Delete Restorable", the domain must be restored before it can be reactivated.
Restoring prices are higher than for renewals because Gandi is charged more by the Registrar for this operation. Although we would like to offer this operation more cheaply, we need to factor the cost in.
You can restore a .COM or a .NET in the same way you would perform a simple renewal. The only difference is that you'll pay more than for a renewal.
You can restore a .info, .ORG or .BIZ domain by contacting Gandi customer support. We will then provide all necessary details, such as modes of payment (cheque or transfer), deadlines, as well as the reference number you'll need to provide during payment.
If you choose not to restore your domain, it will be deleted by the Regitrar 35 days after it entered it's "Redemption Period" or "Pending Delete Restorable" (delays are variable for .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ and .INFO domains). Once it is freed, it will be available for registration to anyone, and therefore the "first come first served" rule applies.
