I was wondering what is the purpose of the secondary MX address? I just left the default Gandi nameserver.
My host (OVH/Kimsufi) only provides secondary nameservers for the A record.
Backup MX servers can accept mail when the primary MX server cannot. For example, you could run your own mail server, but use Gandi's mail server as your backup MX. If your mail server goes down for some reason, Gandi's mail server will queue mail for you until yours comes back up, assuming it does so within a reasonable amount of time.
