Using another web host's DNS
answered

Question "Allowing DNS AXFR transfers", by Hinu A.

How can I setup permissions for AXFR transfers, so I can use Gandi as Primary / secondary DNS, but use another company for tertiary / quaternary DNS?

The other company has several IP addresses they run their DNS servers from.

Answer, by Ryan A. (Gandi)

Gandi's default nameservers do not authorize AXFR transfers, so they cannot be used with third-party NS.

Our three nameservers (a.dns.gandi.net, b.dns.gandi.net, c.dns.gandi.net) are very secure and reliable however (http://www.gandibar.net/post/2007/01/10/New-Gandi-DNS) and so with the three in place you can be assured that your web services will not have any problem resolving.

You can use our secondary nameserver, NS6.GANDI.NET however, in conjunction with a primary nameserver of a third-party, however.
