Question "Blocking Whois data", by gary m.

Is it possible to block the whois data for a domain?

Is there a privacy setting for owner and e-mail information?

Answer, by Michael B.

GANDI does not offer this service for postal address or phone. However you can hide your email address to avoid spam by going to the contact details for your account and checking the box 'E-mail / ID protection'.

Some other registrars do offer an anonymizing of your name and postal address (replacing it with their own) though most seem to charge extra for it.

Nominet allowed the postal address and owner information to be hidden from WHOIS lookups for .uk TLDs. Would GANDI consider offering this service? Privacy is a concern for me.

Follow-up, by Josh T.

Note that Gandi now offers this service.
