Question "Changing Owner Details", by Bob B.

I have recently changed e-mail addresses and would like to update the owner contact on my domains. This page would seem to indicate that I can just change the e-mail field, but unfortunately it is grayed out. I read elsewhere on this wiki that I will need to simply make a new contact and switch the owner to that contact.

A) Which of these is correct?

B) If I am forced to change the owner contact, the system will attempt to charge me $15 per domain. Am I really expected to pay that for each of my domains just to get the e-mail address updated?

Answer, by Michael M. (Gandi)

If the e-mail address has been grayed out, this means that you are trying to change the e-mail address of a handle that you do not have access to. This happens, for example, when you are logged in under the administrative account of a domain name, and try to change the e-mail address of the owner handle.

As a reminder, you can see your handles either from the domain's control panel, or in the whois database at http://www.gandi.net/whois

Therefore, to change that particular e-mail address, you will need to log into that Gandi handle first.
