Stopping a server

During the management of your hosting account, you may find that you need to stop one of your servers. Because your server is a virtual server, there is no need to turn off a machine - this is why it is easy to just 'stop' a server.

There are three ways to stop your server, but begin by connecting to your hosting interface by clicking on the 'manage' tab at the top of our website, and then on 'Servers'.

In the "Server Administration" tab, find the server that you want to stop in your list of servers.

Then, click on the link that says "stop".

Alternatively, it is possible to stop a server from its management page by clicking on "Stop" in the "Status" section:

Warning:

It is also possible to "reboot" your server. Please use this function with care: it is a hard reboot and can create errors on your server if used inappropriately. In most cases, a stop/start of your server will be sufficient.
