RAM quota corresponds to the amount of RAM available in your account. It comes from both shares that are available in your account (not attached to a server) as well as any additional RAM that you may have purchased.
The quantity of RAL allocated to a server cannot exceed 6 GB.
Modify the quantity of RAM allocated to your server during its creation
When you create a server, you will be presented with the quantity of RAM that corresponds to the number of shares that you are going to allocate to your server.
You can:
Change the amount of RAM on an existing server
On your server's management page, you will see a line that says specifies the amount of RAM associated to your server (it is on the right, in the General Information box). Click on the "Modify" link. You can then change the amount of ram allocated to the server using the dropdown menu.
Note:
Pay close attention to the limit of your serer. If you need more than 2GB of RAM on a server that has fewer than 8 shares, you must go back to your server's management page and change the limit by clicking on the "Modify" link next to "Limit 2GB".Which RAM limit should I choose for my VPS ?
The RAM limit should be chose as the maximum of RAM that you may allocate to the VPS.
Flex operations (which allow to increase the server power by adding shares directly in case of a load peak) should have a correct RAM limit before beginning, else the VPS will restart to adapt the RAM limit to apply the changes.
For example, you use a 1-share VPS, you do a Flex operation to add 9 more shares for a total of 10 shares because you want to prevent a high load. If the VPS manages itself the Flex operation, when the operation begins, the RAM limit will be updated and the VPS restarted. To avoid that, configure the RAM limit before doing the Flex operation, doing so, when the operation begins, the VPS won't restart.
Important:
The RAM limit of 2GB can be used on VPS composed of 1 to 8 shares (256MB to 2GB of RAM).
