UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE should one of the following passwords be used:

• root
• admin
• pass
• password
• 123456
• qwerty
• abc123
• (your name)

Also, A basic hacker tactic is to run a program that tries every word in the dictionary as a password (called a dictionary attack). So just because your password may be long, if it is a word, then it may be quickly hacked.

A password should contain a mixture of numbers and letters, in both upper and lower case. The password should also be long, yet easy to remember.
