Turning off transfer protection

Not all domains use the Client Transfer Prohibited status, just those that use a certain protocol (such as .com, .net., .info., .org, .biz). Most ccTLDS (ex. .eu, .be, .de etc.) do not use this status. If you are in doubt please contact support.

To turn off this protection, you need to log in under the owner or administrative contact handle for the domain.

If you do not know these, you can find them in the public whois database at http://www.gandi.net/whois or at https://www.gandi.net/login/search

Then, if you need to get your password, use the link at https://www.gandi.net/login/lost to reset it.

When you log into your domain, go to its control panel, where you will see the following at the top:

geninfo.jpeg

Click on the link that says "Modify" after "Transfer lock" to change the state of your domain.

Turning on transfer protection

The same procedure is used, but in reverse. This status is applied by default, but if needed, click on the link to change the status to be locked.
