How can I change the owner's email address?

Note:

If there is an existing email address for the owner, then you need to log in under the owner's handle and change the email address from there. Specific instructions on this are here: http://wiki.gandi.net/en/contacts/emailchange

If you have just transferred a domain name to Gandi but see that there is no email address for the owner handle (why is this not my handle?), this is because there was no email address registered with the owner contact while the domain was at the previous registrar.

When the domain was transferred to Gandi, we therefore received the transfer authorization from the administrative contact, not the owner contact, and created the new owner handle exactly as it was at your former registrar (eg. without the email address).

You will know if this is your case if you see the following message beneath the owner information in the contacts section of the domain name's control panel when you log into the domain:

Invalid e-mail address
Please change

To change this: You can simply log into the domain under the administrative contact's handle.

Then, click on the link that says "Modify" which is under the owner's information. You will now be taken to the contact's account information form.

Scroll down to this part:

And then replace 'none' with the email address that you want.

What next?

Once you have done this, you have access to the owner handle by going to the following link and requesting the password-reset email: https://www.gandi.net/login/lost

Then, if you wish, you can change the owner handle of the domain name to a handle you are more used to working with (ex. your administrative contact handle). See how to do this here: http://wiki.gandi.net/en/domains/management/change-domain-owner1
