To begin, run Thunderbird, go to the "Edit" menu and select "Account Settings…"
Select "Add Account…" and then "Next"
Next, enter your information such as the e-mail address that will appear on your sent e-mails
Select the option, "IMAP", and enter the name of your server, which will be "imap.yourdomain.tld".
If the domain is "ganditutorial.net" for example, then the configuration will be "pop.ganditutorial.net"
Warning:
Please remember that "www" is NOT part of the domain name - it is only a sub-domain that is commonly used to direct a domain name to a website. Finally, enter the username: this is the same as the one that you chose during the creation of your e-mail address
You may then enter a name for the account, so that you can rapidly identify it in your control panel (useful if you have several different e-mail accounts that you manage from the same Thunderbird application).
Yippee! Yoou have completed the IMAP configuration of your Thunderbird.
All that remains is to enter the password of your e-mail account (the one that you specified when you created your e-mail account) so that you can download your mail.
